When do you need a tow truck? A practical guide
Not every breakdown requires towing. But when it does, knowing what to do makes the difference. Here's a practical guide to help you decide — and how to request a tow via FastAssist24.
When is towing necessary?
Towing is needed when a vehicle can no longer be driven safely: serious engine damage, gearbox failure, structural damage after a collision, or a flat tyre with no spare and no mobile fitting possible.
When can the roadside provider help on site?
Jump-start for a flat battery, spare tyre fitting, emergency fuel top-up or a minor technical fix — these can often be resolved without towing.
How to request towing via FastAssist24
Select the towing option in the help wizard, provide your desired destination and submit. Your request is forwarded to available partners with towing equipment.
